Announces 8th Annual Crabby Chefs Seafood Festival Benefiting
the Cal Recreational Sports Development Fund‚s Camp Scholarship

CA/September 2008 - Spenger's Fresh Fish Grotto
has announced their 8th annual Crabby Chefs Seafood
Festival, this year benefiting the Berkeley Cal Recreational
Sports Development Fund‚s Camp Scholarship Program. The
event will be held on Sunday, October 12th
from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
The
festival includes a colorful “Iron Chef"
style culinary competition that culminates with a Crabby
Chef being chosen, plus, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.,
outdoor food booths will be selling cooked crab, crab cakes,
clam chowder and other seafood delights, along with beer, wine
and soft drinks, with a portion of the proceeds being donated
to the Cal Recreational Sports Development Fund‚s Camp
Scholarship Program. There will also be musical entertainment.
The culinary competition is free, open for public viewing and
will begin at 2:00 p.m.
Also
on site for the festivities will be the Pacific Seafood
"roadshow," a mobile retail fish
and shellfish store in the form of an 18 wheeler walk-in truck
parked adjacent to the event staging area. The public can purchase
the freshest seafood available in the Bay Area for preparation
at home.
Spenger's
Fresh Fish Grotto, established in 1890, is located
at 1919 Fourth Street in Berkeley, California, just off of I-80.
